Which fabrics and materials to use for sewing a classic corset?
1️⃣ Main and Lining Fabric
Depending on your corset size, you’ll need 120–150 cm (47–59 inches) of fabric. Width may vary from 90 to 150 cm (35–59 inches).

2️⃣ Fusing Material (Interfacing)
Used for duplicating the main and lining fabrics.You’ll need 140–170 cm (55–67 inches) in length and 90–150 cm (35–59 inches) in width.
Recommended:


3️⃣ Thin Fusing Material (for Cup Padding)
You’ll need 0.5 m (20 inches).

4️⃣ “Rigilene” Boning
You’ll need both 8 mm (0.3 inch) and 1.2 cm (0.47 inch) widths.
5️⃣ Padding Polyester
You’ll need 0.5 m (20 inches) with 1 cm (0.39 inch) thickness.



6️⃣ Satin Ribbon
Width 0.5–1 cm (0.19–0.39 inch), length 2 m (78.7 inches).
7️⃣ Bias Tape
Width 1–2 cm (0.39–0.78 inch), about 2 m (78.7 inches) long.

8️⃣ Grommets
Diameter 0.5-0.6 cm (0.19 inch). You’ll need 10–20 pieces, depending on your lacing height.
