Aybüke Vuralan.
I am a recent graduate in Fashion Design.
As a new designer, I truly believe in the value of your patterns and courses.
I created a corset using entirely up-cycled denim fabrics and leftover materials. It features a silk lining on the inside for comfort and luxury, and I used flexible boning to structure the shape. This project was my first attempt at creating a corset with cups, and it taught me many new techniques I had never tried before.
I especially loved working with denim because it gave the corset a more casual, sporty aesthetic—something I hadn’t seen often in corsetry, and it allowed me to explore a unique style and texture. While I was inspired by standard corset patterns, I customized the silhouette to reflect the styles I personally enjoy designing.
This corset reflects not only my love for sustainable fashion but also my willingness to experiment and grow. It also represents one of my proudest sewing moments to date, as it challenged me in new ways and gave me the confidence to trust my own design voice.
Thank you for this opportunity and for inspiring so many of us around the world.
Warm regards,
Aybüke Vuralan
